Facial Piercings

Hi everyone,

So, you probably know that there are SO many different places on your body that you can get pierced! This page will hopefully give you a better idea of some common piercings you can get done on your face and what they are called. I originally tried to put ALL piercings on one page, but then thought it would be a lot easier to divide them into different pages. So, enjoy the facial piercing page!
Hope you enjoy!

Facial Piercings:

Eyebrow
You can get your eyebrow pierced horozontally or vertically, in any position along the brow bone. The most common is a vertical bar/ring on the outer area of the eyebrow.

 Anti - eyebrow
This is similar to an eyebrow piercing, but is situated underneath the eye, on the slightly fleshy part of your upper cheek bone.

Eyelid
This piercing is not so common, but possible. It involves piercing the eyelid on the outer area of the eye. The jewellery is obviously limited as it is such a tight area so a ring is most common.

Bridge
The bridge piercing is located at the top, or bridge, of your nose. It is the area situated in between your eyes.

Nostril
The most common form of nasel piercings, the nostril piercing involves a thin stud or ring through the lower outside area of the nose.

Septum
The septum sits between your nostrils. The piercing goes through the thick, fleshy part at the front of the nose, and is not supposed to pass through the cartilage closely above.

Monroe
The monroe piercing is named after Marilyn Monroe's famous mole. It is done on the left side of the upper lip.

Madonna
The Madonna Piercing is similar to the Monroe, but on the right side instead of the left.

Medusa
The Medusa is situated directly in the centre of your upper lip.

Angel Bites
Angel bites is a term used to describe having both the Madonna and Monroe piercings.

Dimples
Getting your dimples pierced! If you don't have obvious dimples, the piercing would go where they generally would be.

Lip
An oral piercing which sits anywhere along either lip. These are most common for having rings, but small labrets can also be used.

Tounge
Another very common piercing, it is mostly worn by women, but men have also been known to get them. The tounge can be pierced many times and a thick bar is used.

Frenulum
The frenulum is a small piece of tissue located underneath the tounge.

Smiley
The smiley refers to a thin piece of tissue located just inside the upper lip, above the teeth. A ring is most commonly used here to avoid discomfort.

Frowny
Similar to the 'Smiley', but positioned behind the lower lip.

Labret
This piercing sits through the lower lip - either vertically or horozontally.

Snakebites
Snakebites are similar to angel bites but sit below the lips instead of above.

Microdermal Piercings (aka: Surface Anchors)
You can get a microdermal piercing in a lot of places around your body, even on your face. On the face, surface piercings are most common on the upper, outer cheeks but can be placed anywhere.
